British Airways A320 Club Europe / Concorde Dining LHR-AMS
While this post is all about the fantastic dining experience in the signature British Airways lounge, I was very impressed by the service on the 45 minute Club Europe flight.
The first order of business after clearing a transit security check was to head to the lounge for a shower, a meal and a spa treatment if one could be arranged. The Concorde Room has multiple types of seating in various rooms along with a true British Boardroom plus a piano player.
Included in the price of admission are shower rooms and cabanas. While the shower room was rather narrow, it served the purpose quite well.
Refreshed, I made an appointment at Elemis for a free facial massage.
Men had a choice of a facial massage or manicure. The massage was done in one of the curtained off rooms. It lasted 15 minutes and was very relaxing. My masseuse Toni was awesome, even giving me a number of travel sized pouches of the lotions she used. Highly recommended.
Next was the main event.
The Concorde Dining Room offers one of the better first class lounge menus I’ve seen.
What better way to start?
I ordered the Moroccan Carrot Salad off the Lounge menu as well as the Pan Fried Mackerel off the Main Dining menu. Both were OUTSTANDING.
I think I was given the Moroccan Salad off the Main Dining menu as it was huge.
Soon it was time to board the BA A320 for a short hop across the North Sea to Amsterdam.
Most are familiar with European business class. It’s simply the middle economy seat blocked.
London at dusk.
DO&CO is now catering BA’s European flights. Remember this is a 45 minute flight at best.
This beef and chicken salad was really good.
Some delicious hummus.
And a dessert by DO&CO. Now you have a great short hop meal.
I truly enjoyed my travel with British Airways, certainly the lounge experiences. And by the way. This flight to Amsterdam was purchased for 7,750 Avios and $40. No complaints about that at all!
