This time there was no disappointment.
Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel and hopefully give you ideas on how you can get the best value from your points and miles. Hope you enjoy the flight!
This 4-leg 15,000+ mile first class journey was everything I’d hoped for. Could it get any better? Yes!
Reward Flying has flown many miles in first class on most of the world’s premier airlines. This flight may have been the best.
While first class redemptions are always a treat, when they include special services like private check-in, the experience becomes extra special. Today’s flight would include Singapore Airlines renowned first class reception.
If you can’t get excited about flying Singapore’s A380 Suites class, then reward flying isn’t for you.
Now that I had my fun flying Qantas’ 787-9 to somewhere I didn’t need to go, I had to get to Sydney where the trip home would commenee the following day.
I traded a day in Brisbane for 120 minutes on Qantas’ new 787-9 just to experience this well publicized aircraft. I’m glad I did.
Due to my compulsive desire to tinker with trips, what was once 5 days in Cairns turned into an overnight. I won’t make that mistake again.
I was able to snag a deal and booked it primarily to plane watch before my flight to Cairns, the trip’s original destination.
After my visit to the lounge it was off to the end of Concourse C to board the A380 for a 14 hour flight to Sydney.
The whole purpose of being in Paris on this day to catch a Qatar airways flight was to experience Q-suites. Such are the perils of making reservations a year in advance.
Booking a year out is when many great reward seats are available. In this case I had the choice of flying KLM in their 747 or Air France in their A330. Easy.
Knowing Delta's intentions were to replace the 747's with their new Airbus A350, I set another aircraft change alert.
Traveling on a carrier who doesn't fly to the USA is always an anticipated experience for me, especially on one with a great reputation for premium service.
While Singapore Airlines has numerous direct flights to Bali, I thought it would be fun to try KLM's fifth freedom flight. It was a good decision.
Reward Flying has reviewed the JAL Sky Suite twice as well as the Shell Flat Neo, so reviewing the Sky Suite III was anticipated.
It's all Delta's fault. So thanks Delta for a reason to fly Japan Airlines first class again.
So I saved at least 10,000 points and got to Chicago in first class with the quickest connection.
Speaking of IFE. The true in-flight entertainment was out the window on this flight!
On a nice day from the domestic terminal over to international is a 15 minute walk. Today a crowded shuttle would take me there for an anticipated first time on the world renowned airline Emirates.
